Non-Fiction
Guidelines
In non-fiction, I’m looking for:
- A Compelling Concept: A non-fiction book should have a unique and engaging concept or idea that addresses a specific topic or problem in an interesting and innovative way.
- Zeitgeist: I’m actually looking for books that are ahead of the curve, I‘m looking for the the Zeitgiest idea before it hits the Zeitgeist. Let’s help create that Zeitgeist!
- Books that open 'the discussion': I’m interested in books that break ground, open discussions and debates, books that speak to multi-generations
- Author Platform: I am interested in authors who have a platform or expertise in their field, such as professionals, academics, journalists, influencers, or individuals with a significant online following. A strong platform will help attract readers and promote the book.
- Market Demand: We consider the market demand for the proposed non-fiction book, including current trends, reader interests, and potential competition. I'm looking for books that fill a gap in the market or offer a fresh perspective on popular topics.
- Quality of Writing: While non-fiction books are often more focused on conveying information than storytelling, I'm seeking well-written manuscripts with clear, concise, and engaging prose. Strong writing skills are essential for effectively communicating ideas to readers.
- Authoritative Voice: Non-fiction authors should have a credible and authoritative voice that inspires confidence and trust in readers. I'm looking for authors who can effectively communicate their expertise and perspective on the subject matter.
- Marketable Platform: We consider an author's ability to market and promote the book effectively, including their willingness to engage in publicity, speaking engagements, and media appearances. A proactive author can significantly contribute to the success of a non-fiction book.
Overall, I'm seeking non-fiction books that move minds and spirits, help shape a new lansdscape and offer valuable insights, expertise, or solutions to readers whilst also having the potential to attract a sizable audience and achieve commercial success in the publishing market.
